Greetings

Mr. Massimo,
I want to say hello to you and send warm greetings. It is much respected what you did in acquiring knowledge and sharing with the rest of the world. I hope you will spend warm holidays with your family. I wanted to say thanks buy sending something which you like. It is very modest and nothing special, I know, but anyway. I read you like old Shure cartridges which nowadays are hard to find. I will send the photos to you and if you like them I will send to your address. One of them have stylus other doesn’t have. If you don’t need the cartridges I can find some other way to say thanks to you…It would be much easier if I don’t live so far away. I acquired many nice Grundigs and at the moment I am listening and selecting the best.
Speakers: box 300, 320, 400, two 450 pro, 650, 650 pro, Aktiv 20
Amps: v30, two v7000, v1700, v4080, r35, r1000, rpc 650 (half faulty unfortunately)
Original cablea in black and biege Phillips grey IC and Grundig IC cables. The results bring much joy in listening to music.
I have one question: I am loosing the sound from one channel on my v30 but if I lightly press with my finger the top of the amp the sound comes back. Do you have any clue? Other question: today I unscrew the top of the v30 to check for culprit of loosing the channel ( checking with my amateur eyes) but I didn’t see anything. What I realized though is the v30 sounds much better ( 30%) without the top cover. So, my question is, why is this happening and can I keep it like that, without the top cover. Is it safe? And is there possibility for the amp to sound equally good with the top cover on?
Best regards!
Filip xxxxx

Dear Filip,
Thank you but I already have these heads so better if you keep them as a spare or give them to some of your friends.
The failure of your V30 is most likely caused by a no longer good soldering or by a micro-interruption of a track … it must be checked on the pcb with the magnifying glass.
The v30 must be better with the lid fitted and the five screws tight. The lack (or the bad seal) of one of screw greatly precludes the full CCI result of the amplifier.
Best Regards
Massimo
